INFORMATION SHEET
Plant Variety Protection Course
The Plant Variety Protection Course is organised by Naktuinbouw in close co-operation with Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR. The course aims at facilitating the introduction and practical implementation of Plant Breeders' Rights (Plant Variety Protection) in countries where legislation on this matter is being developed, has recently been passed, or who are considering to develop a system. This will be achieved through presentations, discussions and practical training, and through visits to key organisations active in the operation of a plant variety protection system.
Characteristic of the approach for this course is the focus on systems thinking, participation and learning, both in content as in facilitation. Participants will not only be equipped with knowledge and skills, but they will also return home with practical tools, action plans and insights in their own role and the conviction that they can make things work.
This course is a great opportunity for participants to share ideas and experiences and to build networks with colleagues from all over the world working in the field of plant variety protection.
Nuffic Scholarships A limited number of scholarships are available from Nuffic, the Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education. For residents of certain countries, Nuffic can offer NFP scholarships via the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for the PVP course. Nuffic also offers a StuNed scholarship especially for residents of Indonesia or a MENA scholarship for residents of Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman and Tunisia. If you want to apply for a scholarship you must meet a number of criteria. Please visit the website of Nuffic for more information about the NFP scholarships, the StuNed scholarships or the MENA scholarships.
Apply For a NFP, MENA or StuNed scholarship apply directly at Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR via www.wageningenur.nl/cdi. You will receive a confirmation and more information within a week. Early application is recommended as some procedures to finalize subscription (f.e. funding, visa) can take some time.
